Student Code of Conduct Policy

To ensure a productive and effective tutoring relationship, the following expectations are set forth for all students engaging with OL Tutoring’s services. By engaging with our tutoring services, students and their guardians agree to meet the following expectations:

Punctuality

Students are expected to arrive for tutoring sessions on time. If a session is online, the student should be logged in and ready to start at the scheduled time.

Sessions will start at the pre-agreed time on the pre-agreed date unless successfully rescheduled beforehand in accordance with the OL Tutoring Absence and Rescheduling Policy.

Preparation

Students are expected to complete any assignments or homework given by the tutor to the best of their ability. This work should be ready for review or discussion at the beginning of each session or handed in as agreed with the tutor each week.

Students should have all necessary materials (textbooks, notebooks, pens/ pencils, and any electronic devices needed for online learning) ready at the start of each session.

Engagement and Participation

Students are expected to actively participate during tuition sessions. This includes asking questions, engaging in discussions, and completing in-session exercises. Constructive feedback is welcome and encouraged. Students should feel comfortable sharing what is working well and what could be improved in the tutoring sessions.

Respectful Conduct

Students must show respect to the tutor and any other individuals involved in the tutoring sessions. This includes using polite language, listening when others are speaking, and adhering to any rules set forth for online sessions.

Academic honesty is paramount. Students are expected to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity in their work.

Communication

Students (and guardians) should provide regular updates, where possible, on their academic progress, including feedback from teachers, grades on assignments/tests, and any changes in the curriculum they are learning at school. Moreover, any concerns or issues related to the tutoring sessions, materials, or personal learning challenges should be communicated to the tutor promptly.

Commitment to Improvement

Students are expected to demonstrate a commitment to learning and improvement. This includes being open to new strategies and feedback from the tutor. While the tutor will provide guidance and support, students are encouraged to also take initiative in their learning journey, including seeking out additional resources and studying beyond the tutoring sessions as needed.

Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as required to reflect best practices.
